In our first edition, we had over 250 entrants, culminating in the selection of 12 finalists and the determination of four winners, who received prizes totaling over $100,000 pesos.

Submissions

(CLOSE JANUARY 8th 2024) 

The Condesa Gin jury will review the applications based on the mentioned criteria and select the 8 finalists who will participate in the final round to be held in Mexico City in February 2024.

Finals

(FEBRUARY 2024, CDMX)

The finalists will be announced on our Instagram profile and by email on January 16.

Prizes:

  • 1st place: $50,000 pesos
  • 2nd place: $25,000 pesos
  • 3rd place: $15,000 pesos

SUBMISSIONS

Please be sure to fill out the form no later than 8 january 2024. 

You must develop a cocktail using either Condesa Gin Clásica or Condesa Gin Xoconostle y Flor de Azahar, using 50 ml and up to 5 additional ingredients (garnishes do not count as ingredients). Only one (1) of the gins can be used in your cocktail and it does not count towards the 5 ingredients.

 

The Condesa Gin Committee will review applicants and select the finalists for the in-person finals and announce them January 16th.  

 

Condesa Gin will cover flight and lodging expenses in Mexico City for finalists not residing there. Additionally, the jury will select the top 50 who will receive a digital medal for sharing on Instagram.

RULES:

  • You must develop a cocktail using either Condesa Gin Clásica or Condesa Gin Xoconostle y Flor de Azahar, using 50 ml and up to 5 additional ingredients (garnishes do not count as ingredients). Only one (1) of the gins can be used in your cocktail and it does not count towards the 5 ingredients.
  • You can use syrups, cordials, shrubs, or clarifications. Keep in mind that the number of ingredients in these mixtures will count towards the total of 5 ingredients. Note: commercially available syrups and cordials will count only as one ingredient. If you are making clarifications, the products only used to clarify the (e.g., milk), do not count towards the total.
  • Once you have developed your cocktail, take a photo or video of it along with the Condesa Gin bottle you used. Keep in mind that the photo or video is your presentation card, so it should be high quality and in portrait (vertical) orientation, not landscape. We suggest you check the resolution of your devices beforehand and ensure they are high resolution or Full HD. Videos can be of any length.
  • Upload a post of your cocktail on your Instagram account. Your post must include:
  • ✦ Cocktail name
  • ✦ Photo of your cocktail (including the bottle) (1080 x 1080 px or 1080 x 1920 px) jpg / png or video (1080 x 1920 px) mp4
  • ✦ The photo or video must include the bottle of Condesa Gin.
  • ✦ Step-by-step cocktail recipe in the post description (if it’s a video, you can mention or include the recipe in the video)
  • ✦ Explanation/inspiration of the cocktail in the post description (if it’s a video, you can include explanation/inspiration in the video)
  • ✦ Add the hashtags: #CondesaRitualSeries2024 #laginebrademexico #únetealritual
  • ✦ Don’t forget to tag us @condesagin

Submit your application and make sure to fill out the entire form. Have your photo(s) and/or video, along with the information you posted on Instagram, ready. You can complete the form on a computer or mobile device. Make sure to submit your application before January 8, 2024. If your application is successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from us.

Judging Criteria

Judging criteria will not only include taste, appearance and technical skill, but also how well the cocktail tells the story of the Condesa Ritual, blending ancient curandera tradition and modern sophistication.

Overall quality of the photo or video submission at the digital stage, and in-person presentation and story-telling skills at the Finals will be an important criteria for the winning entries.

At Condesa Gin, both via botanicals and story-telling, we take inspiration from curandera traditions to cleanse the body and mind, and expand consciousness. How do you interpret your Condesa Gin ritual?

ABOUT CONDESA GIN

Named after one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Mexico City, Condesa Gin is a premium Mexican gin, artisanally made by a team led by master distiller Hillhamn Salome in the first micro-distillery in the heart of the city.

Its two expressions, Clásica (with palo santo and sage) and Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom, reflect a younger and more cosmopolitan vision of the country, and open up a world of Mexican spirits beyond agave.

We aim to fuse two beautiful concepts – the stunning, cosmopolitan style of modern Mexico, and the traditional rituals of curanderas who, using a vast array of Mexican botanicals, have maintained traditional beliefs for centuries. This fusion of modern style and respect for tradition lies at the heart of Condesa Gin.

DIGITAL CHOICE AWARD

All participants automatically enter this competition. The 16 posts with the most likes will compete for a prize of $10,000 Mexican pesos for 1st place.

Additionally, the jury will select the top 50 who will receive a digital medal for sharing on Instagram.

 

General information:

  • To participate, you must be of legal drinking age in your country of origin, and at least 18 years of age.
  • The competition is open to the public; you just need a bottle of Condesa Gin and be of legal age.
  • You are free to participate individually or in a group, but prizes are awarded individually to the applicant and only one person is invited to the final.
  • You can apply as many times as you want with different cocktails.
  • We understand that you may need to use other brands to celebrate Condesa Gin in a unique cocktail. As long as at least 50 ml of Condesa Gin is used as the main alcohol, the entry is valid.

The competition is open to everyone. All you need is a bottle of Condesa Gin. 

Yes. Everyone is welcome to enter.

You will receive a confirmation email from us. 

For the Ritual Series vol. 2, only one of each of our gins is to be added to the cocktail.

Finalists will be announced on our Instagram account and via email on January 8th 2024 to you directly on the email address you provided in your submission.

We will contact you via email to obtain bank account information if you are among the winners.

This sample program is available only to bars and restaurants within Mexico. Once verified by the Condesa Gin team, we will send samples of Condesa Gin to the address provided for the bar or restaurant in your submission form.

Sure! Feel free to enter as an individual or as a group. We will only be able to compensate one entry with the entry grant, however.

You may use the gin, and up to five additional ingredients. Garnishes do not count as ingredients. Syrups can be counted as 1 ingredient but should be commercially available. If you are making your own pre-mixes, the ingredients in this pre-mix will count towards the 5 ingredient total. The gin does not count as one of the 5 ingredients.

Yes, you will always be eligible for our digital choice awards, and for your cocktail to be profiled on our Instagram page.

You can submit as many cocktails as you like.

Yes absolutely. We understand you may need to use other brands to help celebrate a great Condesa Gin cocktail. As long as the cocktail contains 50ml or more of Condesa Gin, and it is the primary alcoholic ingredient, it is eligible for submission.

  • Please get your video, photo and recipe submissions in by 8 January 2024.

Cocktails will be judged on taste, technique, the expression of the Condesa Ritual and how they are presented by the bartender in the video or photo. In addition, they will be assessed by how they tell the story of Condesa Gin (curandera botanicals, modern Mexico).

We’ll cover flights and accommodation for the finalists to Mexico City.
